Stunning iPhone 14 upgrade “lets you make calls without a phone signal or Wi-Fi” — here’s how it works

THE NEXT iPhone is only days away and the latest rumor has it that it will come with a VERY handy new feature.

Satellite phones let you make calls and even send texts without a cellular signal or WiFi connection.

As the name suggests, they connect to other phones via satellite rather than cell towers.

The technology has been used for years by people in remote locations — like mountain climbers or workers on oil rigs.

However, it is rarely loaded into everyday phones, instead appearing mainly in specialty devices designed for outdoor use.

Apple seems planning to change that with the release of the iPhone 14, which is rumored to be just around the corner.

According to Kuo, who has accurately leaked iPhone features in the past, Apple is working on satellite connectivity for the device.

in one blog entry On Monday, he said the Cupertino tech titan had already completed “hardware testing” for the feature.

The idea is that satellite communications will only be used for emergency SMS or voice services.

The technology is quickly becoming a “must-have smartphone feature” given the “increasing frequency of natural disasters and geopolitical conflicts in recent years,” Kuo wrote.

However, Apple still has a significant hurdle to overcome before its phones can make calls from anywhere in the world.

According to Kuo, the company has yet to sign a deal with a company that can provide a satellite network.

Without this, the iPhone 14 can beam to satellites without having to connect to satellites.

It’s unclear if Apple will manage to seal a deal before September 7, when the iPhone 14 is expected to be unveiled.

Apparently the iPhone 13 also had satellite technology installed, but failed to offer satellite calling after Apple failed to find an operator to sign up on the dotted line.

We probably won’t know anything specific until Apple’s annual launch event on September 7th.

Apple hasn’t confirmed that it will unveil the new iPhone during the tech soiree, although its appearance is all but guaranteed.

The company is also rumored to be unveiling a new version of the Apple Watch and a new mixed reality headset.
