Toronto: Young people entering the house are narrowly hit by a train

A group of young children narrowly escaped death after stepping onto a railway bridge as a train pulled in at full speed.

At around 5pm on Friday May 20, a group of young people, whose ages and names are unknown, entered the Humber River Rail Bridge in Ontario’s capital city of Toronto, Canada, without permission.

A camera at the front of the train captured the terrifying moment as it sped across the tracks, passing a child standing on the far right side of the tracks.

Then two more young people come into view – one wearing a white t-shirt, the other a blue one – and the couple is seen running dangerously in front of the train as it descends the tracks to avoid being crushed.

The kid in the blue t-shirt pans right, runs toward a line of trees below, and eventually disappears from view.

But it’s the person in white who comes closest to death as she ran dangerously close to the train and got trapped between the fast train behind them and the bridge railing on the right, making it difficult to get to safety .

The young people have not yet been identified and it is not known if any arrests have been made, but they all eventually fled to safety.

Metrolinx, an Ontario government agency, tweeted, “This stunning video shows the dangers of walking on rails.”

The agency urgently appealed to the parents and asked if anyone recognized themselves with the young people to get in touch.

According to Operation Lifesaver, over 100 Canadians are seriously injured or killed in railroad crossings or trespassing each year.

According to the government agency, the crew spotted a youth on the fence at the edge of the bridge and narrowly missed him.

“Then they saw two other young people running on the tracks in front of them as if trying to escape the train,” it said.

“We don’t want to come across as punitive, but we are keen to speak to your children to educate them and make sure they never take a risk like this again,” said Transit Safety Manager Steve Weir.
