With summer really arriving this weekend and temperatures soaring to 20°C, it’s time to take full advantage of the warm weather.

Various events are held across the country, and whether you’re looking for something to keep the kids entertained, an active Saturday in the wilderness or a weekend of music, there’s sure to be something for you.

Here is a list of things to do during the comfortable sun season.

Sunny melodies

MusicTown 2022 is set to take Dublin by storm this weekend. Held on Saturdays and Sundays, this musical experience could be a fun way to spend your weekend.

This Sunday, why not visit the Phoenix Park Bandstand and bask in the sun while listening to the NCH Gamelan Orchestra – an Indonesian percussion ensemble that performs traditional Javanese music alongside modern compositions.

This is a free music event for all ages and offers the audience an opportunity to participate in a music workshop at the end. It takes place between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Also on Sunday, MusicTown will take over Dublin’s Grand Social, with Glasshouse presenting an arrangement by Kate Bush and Prince. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and costs €12.50 to enter.

The Dublin Art Street walking tour is a great way to see the hidden gems created by artists across the capital.

This tour would be a perfect activity for this weekend to walk around the city and enjoy the beautiful weather and amazing art.

It takes place this weekend at Cloonfad in Co Roscommon.

The free music tour will explore the works of Irish traditional music as well as Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Dublin’s Wall of Fame, Boomtown Rats, The Icon Walk, U2, Handel’s Messiah and even Boyzone.

The two and a half hour walking tour begins this Saturday at 3pm from the Spire on O’Connell Street.
