Australian comedian Adam Hills, a famous captain, dressed up as his favorite superhero Spider-Man, which he said was a “dream come true”.

He told PA news agency: “(The event) just brought me home with a smile on my face because of the vibrant, fun atmosphere and I know how much it means to the contestants. .”

He was in a 5k run with a nine-year-old boy named Henry who uses a frame runner and decided to also join the frame run “so we could work together”.

Sophia Warner told PA that when she first came up with the idea, she “didn’t know it would be as big as it is today”.

“I got this idea because I am extremely disappointed that sporting events with large numbers of people with disabilities do not exist, so it is purely a personal mission,” she said.

“I remember that in the first year I was hoping that a few hundred people would come and now it is clear that the number is much larger.”

She added that she has many highlights from the event over the years.

“There are a few kids that have been coming here since they were three years old and we’ve seen them thrive, so it’s definitely been a big hit.”

As for her favorite superhero, she said she “always loved dressing up as Captain Marvel” and hopes the theme will encourage participants to “find their superpowers.”

“Because what I love to hear whenever we interview any kids is that they have a very close relationship with superheroes and their superpowers and what they mean to them.

“I want them to believe that anything is possible.”

The event has entered its sixth year and is taking place in person for the first time since the pandemic.
