Easter is back this weekend with Good Friday on April 15th, meaning many will be enjoying an extra break.
The holiday season means there’s more time to plan for guests, entertain the kids, or simply indulge than a typical weekend. Of course, many will have forgotten to shop for essentials throughout the week, but there is no need to panic as shops remain open, albeit at unusual times.
Most stores have changed their service hours. So, before heading out to beat the morning rush, it’s best to check when your local supermarket actually opens its doors.
Here’s an overview of all the major supermarket chains in the UK and their changed bank holiday schedules.
Asda

Tesco supermarkets are open as usual on Good Friday from 7.30am to 10pm, however some stores may vary. You can check your local stop by entering your postcode or location in the store locator at tesco.com/store-locator/uk.
Morrisons
Good Friday – Morrisons supermarkets are open as usual from 7am to 10pm, however some shops may vary. You can check your local store by entering your zip code or location into the store locator at my.morrisons.com/storefinder.
Sainsbury’s

Iceland
