Susan Calman revealed she underwent hypnotherapy to overcome her fear of flying when she felt she was missing out on the world.

Scottish comedian who has starred in a number of traveling shows in recent years, including Susan Calman’s upcoming second series Grand Week By The Sea.

Though now known for her travel shows, she admits she’s still scared of flying – but says the final destination makes it worth it.

“Until recently, I had a terrible fear of flying,” says Calman. I am still afraid of flying, but now I can get on a plane.”

She explained that she’s had some hypnotherapy that she feels “really helped” her now that she can get on a plane.

One of the shows she recently presented, Cruising With Susan Calman, saw her travel from Florida to explore the Caribbean, something she “never been able to do before” “.

The comedian noted that she was encouraged to get treatment after spending time at home during the lockdown made her feel that she had “missed the world”.

She added: “You know when you really can’t leave your house, you start saying, ‘I really wish I could leave my house. Well, the only thing stopping you is your fear of flying. ‘

“I haven’t enjoyed it yet, but I know that the final destination will make it worthwhile. That’s why I always think if you go somewhere you will find somewhere that will make you happy. “

Her new series Grand Week By The Sea sees the comedian visiting various seaside resorts across Britain including Skegness, Isle of Wight, Weymouth, Tenby and Scarborough.

In each episode, she meets a new famous face with a connection to the region with Dame Arlene Phillips, Ore Oduba, Debbie McGee, Michaela Strachan, and Anthea Turner on the lineup.

Calman admits that she feels “a good fit” when it comes to meeting and hanging out with the celebrities she’s watched on television for years.

She added: “It’s always been an uncomfortable moment for me to meet these amazing people and chat with them.”

Susan Calman’s Grand Week By The Sea airs August 1-5 at 8 p.m. on Channel 5 and is watched on My5.
