Susanna Reid: Boris Johnson ‘quickly left’ after GMB interview
Susanna Reid has revealed that Boris Johnson has ‘left immediately’ after she interviewed him on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.
The mother-of-three grilled the Prime Minister on various topics during a tense interview for the ITV breakfast programme.
Speaking on LBC’s Tonight with Andrew Marr on Tuesday night, Susanna revealed what happened when the cameras stopped rolling.
As Mr Marr described Mr Johnson looking “shabby and disgusted” in his interview with Reid, he would love to know what the atmosphere between them was like afterwards.
Reid replied: “Oh, actually the atmosphere after that was ‘Oh, Prime Minister, you know, before you go we should take a picture. Oh, yes. Okay, I’ll know, We will take pictures’.
“And we took the picture in front of the fireplace under the portrait of Baron Thatcher, and it was all perfectly fine. I mean, it was so quick, he quickly left after that.”
Reid also confirmed that she has spoken with OAP Elsie since interviewing the Prime Minister.
Elsie, 77, is one particular case study Reid spoke of about the UK cost of living crisis.
Reid has pushed him into the shameful case of Elsie, who has seen her energy bill rise from £17 to £85 a month, cut it down to one meal a day and take the bus all day to stay out of the house and reduce bills. .

When asked what Elsie should cut back, Reid warned pensioners are “losing weight”, before the Prime Minister replied: “The 24-hour bus pass is really something I’ve actually introduced. “
“I’ve been talking to Elsie since the interview and she said she’s very disappointed with what the Prime Minister said,” Reid told Marr during an appearance on LBC on Tuesday night.
“But I would say for any Prime Minister, any party leader to deal with such a difficult case, the answer is more than just going back, ‘We’re going to invest for the long term. make sure people get jobs. We have this fund out there that can help’.
“The answer was to say, ‘That sounds terrible to Elsie. I want to learn more about that. And you know, if she’ll let me, I’ll get in touch with Elsie as Chancellor and find out exactly what that means. And let’s see how we can help her.” That’s the answer, Reid added.
