The story follows the American family of 16-year-old Adriana Clark who move to the Isle of Mull, far off the coast of Scotland.

Then she goes missing, and in the face of hostile locals and indifferent cops, her distraught parents turn to private investigator Sadie Levesque.

When Sadie finds Adriana’s body in a rock cave, a crown of seaweed carefully arranged on her head, she knows she is dealing with something she has never encountered before.

The Argos:

In the course of her research, Helen discovered a number of legends about the Isle of Mull, many involving witches, which she uses in her book.

Part of the story takes place in Mull’s Mackinnon’s Cave, one of the deepest sea caves in the Hebrides, where legend tells of a whistler who walked his dog there and met a bitter end. Sussex author Helen Fields plans to publish her 11th crime novel
