Sussex Fire Brigade rescue a stranded pregnant cow

A PREGNANT cow was rescued by firefighters after falling into a ditch.

Firefighters and the animal rescue team from East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to a farm in Wartling when Eliah, who is eight months pregnant, fell into the ditch.

The teams successfully killed Eliah, though she reportedly felt a little self-pity.

As with humans, a cow’s pregnancy usually lasts about nine months.

Once labor begins, labor can take anywhere from half an hour to two hours on average.

Most cows give birth to around two to four calves in their lifetime.

The crew was called around 10:16 am on Monday.
