Sussex Police arrest two people after cars were damaged in Crowborough
Police have arrested two people after a man damaged cars with a hammer.
Sussex Police received a report of a disturbance in Burdett Road, Crowborough, around 4.30pm on Thursday.
Along the way, officers received further reports that a man armed with a hammer was causing damage to vehicles on the same road.
One of the vehicle owners also reported being attacked.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested a 34-year-old man of no fixed address on suspicion of criminal vandalism worth under £5,000.
A 33-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells has also been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property worth under £5,000, assault (ABH) and possession of a Class A controlled drug. Cocaine.
Both are currently in police custody.
The police are now looking for witnesses to the incident.
Neighborhood Police Inspector Lauren Buck said: “This incident may be worrying for residents, but we want them to know that we will not tolerate this type of behavior and we are committed to apprehending those responsible.
“We have already arrested two people and the investigation is still ongoing.
“We also want people to know that this was an isolated case and does not pose a threat to the general public.”
