A police officer has been banned from the road after being caught driving at more than 100mph on his way to work.
Adrian Atkinson was sighted on June 21 in a 50 mile zone on the Coombe Valley Way between Bexhill and Hastings traveling at 181 km/h.
The 31-year-old appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court on Friday December 16, where he pleaded guilty and was convicted of speeding.
He was disqualified from driving for 28 days, fined £385 and ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge and £210 costs.
Chief Superintendent Lisa Bell said: “Sussex Police expect the highest personal and professional standards from everyone who works for us.
“The Force’s Professional Standards Division will now consider disciplinary action following the outcome of the court case.”
