Police, ambulances and the RNLI visited Brighton seafront on Sunday after the two men reportedly “jumped” from the pier into the sea.
Sussex Police confirmed today (30 August) that the men remain in hospital.
A police spokeswoman said: “Two men have been taken to hospital after reportedly jumping into the sea from Brighton Palace Pier.
“Police were alerted to the incident around 6.55pm on Sunday 28 August.
“Officials assisted emergency services partners at the scene and the men were released into the care of emergency services and taken to hospital where they remain.”
An eyewitness to the incident described the aftermath of the incident as something out of a “horror movie”.

The witness told how paramedics performed CPR on one of the men for “30 minutes” while “a hundred” people watched from the beach before it was locked down.
Onlookers feared one of the men had died from staying in the water for so long.
