Sussex Police seek suspects in Uckfield John Deere battery theft

Two people are wanted by police after they broke into a shipping container and stole thousands of pounds worth of batteries.

Two suspects were caught by video surveillance breaking into the locked container and stealing batteries for John Deere vehicles.

The batteries, which were stolen from the property at Pump Lane in Framfield near Uckfield, are valued at around £5,000.

Footage taken at the scene shows two people in hooded tops near the shipping container.

Police are now looking for the two suspects in connection with the incident, which took place around 6.10pm on Friday 16 December.

The force are keen to hear from anyone who has been offered a John Deere vehicle battery or who has seen someone selling a pair of car batteries, particularly in East Sussex.

This information or the identity of the suspects in the video can be reported to the police online or 101 stating serial number 395 dated 12/19.
