Sven Botman hints at summer transfer and admits Newcastle is a ‘nice project’ after £50m January transfer broke down

NEWCASTLE target Sven Botman has hinted he would be open to a switch to St James’ Park in the summer after the January move fell through.
Lille defender, 22 years old, entered Toon’s Radar more than £50 million last month.
But the Netherlands Under-21 international stayed when the window slammed shut last night.
Botman is also target for AC Milan, and he admits that he is open to leaving this summer.
He told Ziggo Sport: “Everybody talks about Newcastle – it’s all about the money.
“But it’s a very good project, if you look at where Man City and PSG started. I think it would be great to be a part of that project, but Milan is a beautiful club.”
Botman added: “I am fine in Lille for the time being.
“I think I will take a good step forward in my career next summer.

“You never know in football. This time both Newcastle and Milan are negotiating very specifically.
“Both clubs have their positives.”
Newcastle have had a busy first transfer window under new Saudi ownership.
Eddie Howe has signed Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn as well as bringing in Matt Targett on loan from Aston Villa.
Newcastle are 18th in the Premier League and one point ahead of Norwich with one game left.
