Prince William smiles at George and Charlotte on the balcony

A proud Prince William couldn’t hide his delight as he watched his three children greet the crowds during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Duke of Cambridge broke into a smile as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis waved to the crowd from Buckingham Palace on Sunday.

Kate Middleton appeared to be on parental duty with the youngest Cambridge Prince Louis, while his older siblings took their place in front of dad William.

He was seen beaming as the couple next to the Queen held their hands together in front of them.

The children were also joined by their grandfather Prince Charles and his wife Camilla on the royal balcony during a surprise appearance by the Queen.

Royal fans were thrilled to be a part of this special family moment and shared their reactions online.

“My heart. How nice to see Prince William looking proud as he watches his three children,” one person tweeted.

“He couldn’t hold back his smile as he watched her. And it’s easy to see how much he adores her.”

Another person said: “I never noticed that. This is so beautiful. Such a loving father.”

A third added: “I’m sure he longed for a happy, stable family. It’s really good to see him like this now.”

The royal family appeared on the balcony before the national anthem was played and spent a very brief time conversing before red, white and blue smoke billowed from a stage.

Her Majesty “fought not to be overwhelmed by tears” and shared her surprise with great-grandson Prince George, according to experts.

The Cambridge children wowed crowds during the anniversary weekend as Princess Charlotte made her first royal appearance.

George, eight, and Charlotte, seven, were surprise additions to the Duke and Duchess’ special visit to Cardiff Castle.

The parents beamed as their eldest children appeared to be navigating their first official visit to Wales with ease while little Louis stayed at home.

The youngest Louis of Cambridge captured the nation’s hearts at the opening of the Jubilee weekend when he put a pressing question to the Queen.

The four-year-old stole the show when he pulled a series of playful faces and looked extremely excited during an RAF flypast that ended with a spectacular performance by the Red Arrows.

At one point, Louis could be seen exchanging a few words with his great-grandmother as they waited for the helicopters and planes to fly overhead.

Lipreader Jeremy Freeman told the Mirror how Louis asked, “Are the Red Arrows coming?” to which the Queen replied, “I hope so.”

Louis wore a sailor outfit that day, marking his first official appearance, as a sweet tribute to his father.

Prince William wore the same attire at the same event, Trooping The Color, in 1985.
