Celebrated around the world as Twelfth Night, Little Christmas or The Epiphany, today is traditionally the end of the festive season. In Ireland it is also known as Nollaig na mBan or Women’s Christmas.

For generations, it was a day when, following the Trojan efforts to make Christmas special for their loved ones, women were encouraged to put their feet up while men did the housework, put away the Christmas decorations, and possibly made dinner for the family.
