Taylor Swift is the first artist in history to have tracks from her new album, Midnights, hit all of the top 10 spots on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The 32-year-old Pennsylvania pop singer overtook Canadian rapper Drake, who held the previous record with nine of the top 10 songs for a week in September 2021.
“10 out of 10 on the Hot 100? I’m in ruins,” the 11-time Grammy winner wrote on Twitter.
Swift capitalized on the feat, yesterday announcing a 27-date US tour for 2023 and promising to add international shows “as soon as possible.”
Number one in the charts is one of them antihero. Other top 10 songs are lavender haze, Maroon, snow on the beach, midnight rain, jeweled and question…?.
In the biggest week since Adele’s album 25 about seven years ago, midnight sold
1.578 million album equivalent units since its October 21 debut and has also achieved the most physical vinyl sales since Luminate began tracking the number in 1991.
Swift joins artists like The Beatles, Drake, Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z to debut at the top of the charts with more than 10 albums.
Swift’s eleventh album to top the charts has a 13-track standard release and a deluxe version with seven bonus tracks. It’s a broken one
a number of records including the most streamed album in one day on Spotify and Apple Music.
