Teen boy identified as person of concern after woman was attacked as she walked home in Cork

GARDAI is hunting for a young man who has been identified as the man of interest in the brutal assault of a woman as she was walking home.

The victim, in his 20s, was grabbed from behind and attacked “particularly nasty” on Evergreen Street not far away cork downtown on Saturday night.

She was punched, kicked and fell to the ground due to serious injuries to her face, including a broken jaw.

As she screamed for help, others in the area heard her cries for help, who ran to support her while the cowardly attacker fled.

Passing motorcyclists who also saw the assault stopped their vehicles to help the striking woman.

Emergency services were called and Gardai and paramedics rushed to the scene. The woman received medical treatment before being taken by ambulance to University College Cork Hospital.
