Teenager arrested after series of burglaries in Bexhill

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in a Sussex town.

Police were called to reports of two burglaries at Mistley Close in Bexhill in the early hours of November 15, with officers also being alerted to an attempted burglary on the same street and two attempted burglaries on Filsham Drive in the same morning.

Homeowners reported seeing a man wearing a face covering trying to open the front door of their property before walking away.

Following an investigation, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy from Bexhill in connection with all five offences.

He was released on conditional bail until February 18.

Police have increased their patrols in the area and are encouraging local people to report suspicious behavior.
