Tekken: Bloodline animated series announced for Netflix in 2022

Netflix has announced Tekken: Bloodline, an animated series based on the popular fighting series, set for release in 2022.
Netflix shared the news on Twitter, releasing both a teaser trailer and a poster focusing on Jin Kazama. The official YouTube channel also reveals the synopsis of the show.
In the first animated series of the 3D fighting game TEKKEN, Jin Kazama embarks on a heroic mission leading to the ultimate battle – the King of Iron Fist Tournament.

“‘Power is everything.’ Jin Kazama learned the family’s self-defense arts, traditional Kazama-style martial arts, from a young age from his mother,” reads the official summary. “Nevertheless, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared and destroyed everything he held dear and changed his life forever. Angry at himself for not being able to stop it, Jin swore revenge and sought absolute power to claim it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on the global stage – the “King of.” Iron Fist Tournament.”
The trailer also teases some of the Tekken characters that will be part of the show, including Heihachi Mishima, Kazuya Mishima, Leroy Smith, King, Jun Kazama, Paul Phoenix, and Ogre.
This isn’t the first time Tekken has explored other entertainment media, as an anime Tekken film was released in 1998, followed by a live-action film in 2009, and an animated film – Tekken: Blood Vengeance – in 2011.
As for Tekken games, the last mainline entry in 2015 was Tekken 7 – it started in arcades and hit consoles in 2017 – and no official announcements were made for Tekken 8 or whatever it was called.
This Tekken animated series is just one of the many video game-based projects in the works, and joins an ever-growing list that includes Sonic the Hedgehog 2, BioShock, Halo, The Last of Us, and many more.
