“Of course, when he fell to the ground, everyone knew it was serious. Everyone panicked,” she added.

The worker yells expletives as he struggles to free his finger from the lion’s mouth before finally breaking free and falling to the ground.

The Jamaica Observer contacted the Jamaica Zoo, who said they were unaware of the incident.

A senior police source also appeared unaware of the attack.

“We will go there and I will communicate with the National Environment and Planning Agency, which oversees the Jamaica Zoo,” she said.

Earlier this year, a tiger attacked a zoo worker who was not allowed to be near the big cats when he suddenly entered an enclosure.

The 50-year-old was hospitalized after being abused at Wooten’s Airboats in the Everglades, United States, in March.

He suffered serious injuries in the attack in Florida, but miraculously survived.

The employee, who was not allowed into the cage containing the tiger, reportedly walked in when the fearsome animal was due to be fed, local authorities said.
