Will Smith: The police were called to the Oscars, says Packer

Actor Terry Crews doesn’t think Will Smith’s Oscar punishment “fits the crime” – and says he’s done a lot worse in his life without such repercussions.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star praised Chris Rock for keeping his composure after the shocking Oscars row.

But he hinted that the reaction to the slap on stage last month was overdone.

The Hollywood great was widely condemned for his actions and he issued an emotional apology, but it wasn’t enough and the academy made the decision to ban him for ten years.

But Terry, 53 – a close friend of Chris and Will – said the consequences of what happened were “exaggerated”.
