Tesco is giving away a free café breakfast to almost 200,000 members of the armed forces this Sunday (26 June).

All members of the armed forces on duty, some 159,000 regulars and 32,000 reservists, can show their MOD90 badge at any Tesco cafe to claim the free meal.

Offer is for a full hot breakfast, vegan hot breakfast, sausage bap or bacon bap.

Tesco is launching the deal to mark Armed Forces Day, which takes place on Saturday 25 June, a day before the offer.

All 295 Tesco cafes across England, Scotland and Wales are running the campaign.

Offer limited to one complimentary breakfast per cardholder. You don’t have to buy anything in stores to get the free breakfast.

Tesco is the main sponsor of Armed Forces Day in Scarborough.

Ashwin Prasad, Chief Product Officer at Tesco and Director Sponsor of the Armed Forces Network, said: “We are proud to be able to support National Armed Forces Day in Scarborough which will celebrate the tremendous contribution the armed forces are making to our country.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for shopmates in Scarborough and across the country to celebrate.

“Everyone loves a free breakfast and we thought it was a gesture that shows how much we appreciate military personnel.”

Rhys Little, chairman of the Armed Forces Network at Tesco, said: “We have a long history of standing behind those who have been in the armed forces.

“We have now received two Defense Employer Recognition Scheme Gold awards (2016 and 2020) and we were also the first retailer to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in 2014.

“We are also doing our best to give anyone who leaves the Army, Navy or RAF a chance at a new career.”

More Tesco news urges shoppers to remain vigilant amid a new gift card scam that could drain your bank account.

More than 170 people have reported the scam sending emails to recipients claiming they have a chance to win a £500 Tesco gift card.

“You have been selected to join our loyalty program for FREE!” The email reads. “It only takes you a minute to gain access to this amazing prize.”

However, to get “one step closer” to claiming the prize, the scam asks people to log into their Paypal account or to verify their personal information.
