Tesla’s rear-wheel drive Model Y on sale now, with deliveries possible from February

Tesla’s rear-wheel drive variant Model Y just went on sale here.

The prices for the electric mid-size SUV start at 59,490 euros, deliveries are possible from February.

Tesla says its rear-wheel drive powertrain, its aerodynamics and battery technology mean you should travel up to 455 kilometers between charges.

That’s a claimed number – I’m guessing 400km is closer to the everyday mark.

This is the brand’s most affordable car in the Y range.

Standard features include autopilot, premium interior trim, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, and 13-speaker audio system.

Like the AWD and Performance versions, it features a front trunk and split-folding second-row seats, offering a maximum cargo space of 2,158L.

It has a maximum charging power of 170 kW and access to Tesla’s Supercharger network with more than 9,000 chargers in Europe.

Adding third-party networks will allow owners to travel “seamlessly” across Europe, according to Tesla.
