Texas gunman Salvador Ramos warned an online friend in Germany he would “shoot” an elementary school before massacring 19 children and two teachers.
Ramos, 18, also sent a message saying he was going to shoot his grandmother and another confirming he had done so, Gov. Greg Abbott said at a news conference on Wednesday.
The police were called by the grandmother, who he shot in the face while Ramos fled their home to carry out the atrocities.
It was a 15-year-old girl from Germany, identified by her nickname Cece, who said she had spoken to Ramos on Yubo, an app that allows people to live stream themselves to strangers, and he claimed he was making a ” shoot”. School.
Cece said she first met Ramos two weeks earlier on the app, which the shooter had spoken about to other teenagers around the world.

On Ramo’s birthday, Cece said he had a video call with her from a gun shop where he bought an AR-15 and in the coming days he would say he would do something with it but wasn’t specific.
He then informed the 15-year-old last Monday that he had received a box full of ammunition and showed a black bag that apparently contained it.
On the morning of the shooting, he told Cece that he was waiting for his “grandpa” to leave his house and that his grandmother was “going to get it.”
“I’m going to hurt her,” he wrote.
At 11:21 a.m., Ramos texted another: “I just shot my grandma in the head,” followed by another: “I’m going to shoot an elementary school.”
But the teen in Germany wasn’t sure Ramos was serious and she only got a friend in the US to contact the police when news of the attack broke in the news.
“Maybe I could have changed the outcome,” she said, the reported New York Times.
“I just never knew he would actually do that.”
At the same time, Gvr Abbott said that Ramos, a high school dropout, appeared to have no criminal record or history of mental health problems.
Investigators have not publicly identified a motive.

After fleeing his grandmother’s house, Ramos crashed his car near Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
According to officials, a school police officer approached him outside the building, but no shots were exchanged. The authorities did not give any further details about this commitment.
Ramos then entered the school through a back door with an AR-15 rifle and made his way to a fourth-grade classroom, where all the victims were killed, authorities said.
Police surrounded the building and smashed windows to help children and staff escape. Members of the elite Border Patrol Tactical unit also responded and entered the building to confront the shooter, a US Customs and Border Protection official told Reuters, asking for anonymity to discuss internal information.
Ramos was shot dead by the police. An agent was hit in the leg and grazed in the head, the official said.
