Texas woman who ‘nearly died’ Savages Ted Cruz at Senate anti-abortion hearing

Amanda Zurawski tore Texas GOP scythes Ted Cruz and John Cornyn at a Senate hearing Wednesday on the state’s abortion ban and said she “almost died under her supervision” after being denied care amid a pregnancy crisis. (Check out the video below.)
“I wanted to reach out to my Senators, Cruz and Cornyn, neither of whom are in the room at the moment, unfortunately. But I want them to know that what happened to me … is a direct result of the policies they support,” Zurawski said. “I almost died under her care, and also because of what happened to me, I may have been deprived of the ability to have children in the future.”
Zurawski is suing Texas for withholding an abortion when her pregnancy complications worsened. She said she was told her baby would not survive, but doctors said they could no longer offer care because fetal heart activity could still be detected, according to her suit.
Zurawski eventually developed sepsis and the doctors induced labor. She gave birth and the baby died.
“I was not allowed an abortion, and the trauma, PTSD and depression I have dealt with in the eight months since this happened to me is debilitating,” Zurawski said at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. “Plus, I’m still struggling to have kids.”
Both Texas senators attended the hearing but were not present when Zurawski spoke. The hill reported.
HuffPost didn’t get immediate feedback from either senator.
