The program, called Test & Go, is similar to the Sandbox scheme Thailand ran last year, allowing Britons to enter the country in November.
The scheme was short-lived as Thailand closed its borders when the Omicron variant was discovered in December.
Five weeks later and the program has reopened to all vaccinated travelers, and up to 300,000 travelers are expected to book trips for the month, according to the report. Bloomberg.
And there are plenty of bargains to be found if you book a trip to Thailand now – Loveholidays.com is offering a six-night stay at a Bangkok hotel, including return flights from Birmingham from £418pp.
You must have a second vaccination more than 14 days before traveling to Thailand, and you will have to have a PCR test before departure and another test on arrival.
“It is a good balance between tourism recovery and public health,” said Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, president of the Thai Hotel Association.
“We have to create trust in Thai society because there is still a large group of people who are hesitant about foreign visitors.
“If other countries are still hesitant, they can come see Thailand’s Test & Go model.”
