Thanks to Warzone Season 2 Reloaded, Rebirth Island is the best ever

A few days have now passed since the launch of the new Rebirth Island along with the Warzone Season 2 Reloaded update. The map has received a major overhaul, with a number of new additions in the form of new points of interest, weapon trade points, and more.

Considering the map is still in its infancy, this overhaul is starting to feel like the best update of its kind that we’ve seen in a while, as it raised the quality of Rebirth Island to a point well above previous iterations . While some may feel that Caldera missed the mark, Rebirth Island shines as one of the best Warzone maps we’ve seen in a while.

For those who don’t know, Rebirth Island has had a presence in Warzone for a while. First launched in the first season of the original Warzone and has been there ever since as a constant alternative to the massive open map of Verdansk. However, since the launch of Warzone Pacific and the Caldera map, it has garnered a wave of new players as Caldera’s tropical setting has seen a controversial, Marmite-like reception from the community. Either loved or hated.

Fast forward to Warzone Season 2 Reloaded, and Rebirth Island is getting some love with an expansion and a special set of community challenges pushing the player base onto the map. Looking at Reddit, the many changes are a treat.

“With the new POIs and lighting, Rebirth feels brand new. The flow of the map has completely changed. Security (fortress) is no longer a major disadvantage of low floors versus residential quarters,” writes Reddit user Butterflychunks. And now the prison roof and water tower aren’t nearly as safe as there are multiple ways to get to the top.

This stuff has forced a new approach to the way I play Succession. These high ground, which once had a significant impact on gunfights, aren’t nearly as powerful. The experience is far less predictable than it used to be. ”

Those compliments go hand-in-hand with Rebirth Solos, a new playlist activity that sees squads of solos charge into Rebirth Island for a faster, high-intensity gameplay that’s a counterpoint to Caldera’s slower, more drawn-out experience. Reddit user CJFrancis282 writes: “Resurgence Solos is one of the best modes to add to Warzone and definitely has to stick with the other Resurgence modes. I’ve had an absolute blast on Resurgence solos since they added it. Realistically, since it feels like a way to promote her updated reincarnation map, I don’t think it’s going to stick around forever. But I wish it were!”

So what is the takeaway from this, from the obvious comparisons that are inevitably drawn between this new island of rebirth and Caldera. Last but not least, it emphasizes the strengths of having both a super-fast and intense option to take part in a more traditional, slower-paced battle royale. If the Raven Software team can maintain this momentum for the rest of Warzone Pacific and bring all aspects of the game to this level, then it could be an early sign that the best is yet to come.
