IF YOU are a religious data entry worker who enjoys watching TV and lives in a city, look the other way now.
Scientists have identified you as the world’s most boring person.
The brutal conclusion came after people were asked what types of jobs and hobbies they found boring.
The results suggest that careers in data analysis, accounting, cleaning, and banking are among the most boring.
Among the performing arts, careers in academia, journalism, healthcare and teaching were ranked as the most exciting occupations.
According to experts, hobbies such as sleeping, religion, television, animal observation or mathematical activities are also considered uninteresting.
To make matters worse, worldly people are usually found in small towns and small towns because they avoid large settlements, it is said.
The University of Essex study shows that stereotypically boring people are generally disliked and avoided due to prejudice.
However, experts warn that avoiding people based on these assumptions puts them at greater risk of harm, addiction, and mental health problems.
“Perceptions can change, but people may not take the time to talk to those with ‘boring’ jobs and hobbies, choosing instead to avoid them,” said research leader Dr. Wijnand van Tilburg.
“You don’t have a chance to prove people wrong and break those negative stereotypes.
“Just the fact that people choose to avoid them can lead to social ostracism and increase loneliness, which has a really negative impact on their lives.
“It was interesting for me to see that the study showed that boring people are not considered competent.
“I would have thought that accountants would be seen as boring but effective and the perfect person to do your taxes well.
“The truth is that people like bankers and accountants are very capable and have power in society – maybe we should try not to upset them and stereotype them as boring.”
The study was published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.
