public holidays come with lots of extra little costs – Brits spend on average £100 just for pre-flight snacks – but airport parking can be a frustrating fee, whether you decide to stay longer or are simply dropped off before your trip.

While there is plenty cheap car parks around airportssometimes these aren’t necessarily the most convenient places – and sometimes you just want to minimize your travel time before even boarding a flight.

Luckily, the Car Lease Special Offers team has done the legwork for you, presenting the top 10 cheapest UK airport car parks based on short term, long term and even pre-booked weekend car parking prices.

Belfast International Airport took first place in the rankings, with some of the cheapest fees across all categories.

For example, of the airports surveyed, it had the cheapest short-stay hourly rate of £5 and the cheapest long-term option at £35.

Cardiff and Glasgow also made it onto the podium for their budget-friendly options.

Getting dropped off at the airport can save you extra money



For those who like to plan ahead, Edinburgh Airport offers the best pre-booking deals of any airport, for both weekend and weekdays, with prices starting at £24.99 and £33.99 respectively.

Most of the UK’s busiest airports, including London Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester, didn’t quite make the top 10 rankings – but you can see the full list of airports below…

Of course, if you want to avoid parking fees, one option is to ask a friend or family member to drop you off at the airport – but it’s worth noting that some airports charge fees for using these drop-off zones or parking lots.

However, if your designated driver is happy to just drive and drop you off without hanging around, there are plenty of airports where you don’t have to pay.

Belfast, for example, offers the first 15 minutes free in its long-term parking, while Cardiff offers five minutes free in its drop-off zone.

Meanwhile, airports such as London Stansted, Bristol, East Midlands, London Luton and Leeds Bradford all offer one-hour free drop-off zones.
