The 10th celebrity to be eliminated from the Universal Dance

Kym Marsh has become the 10th celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing after an intense week of musicals.

he’s the presenter and former Hear’Say star, 46, facing Molly Rainford in a dance match after finishing bottom of the standings with 34 points.

Her energetic eighties-style cha cha cha became famous alongside partner Graziano Di Prima after she missed a show last week after testing positive for Covid-19.

After discovering her fate, Marsh talks about wanting to make her father, who is being treated in the hospital following a prostate cancer diagnosis, happy.

She said: “My dad was so proud and that kept him going.

“When he was hospitalized last week, and obviously we weren’t here, all these people sent him videos and it meant a lot.

“My grandchildren are very proud.”

When asked if she had any last words, Marsh added: “Honestly, I loved every moment that I was here. I never thought I would reach this stage in a million years.

“I have to say, it is all thanks to this man (Di Prima), he is amazing and he will be my friend forever.

“But it’s been a journey, this show is amazing, it shows you things about yourself that you didn’t know, it shows you how hard it can be.

“The people, the crew, the celebrities, the experts, the costumes, the makeup, everyone is amazing. I had the best time, so thank you.”

After both couples performed a second time at the dance, the judges gave their verdict, with only Anton Du Beke voting to save Marsh.

He said: “As you would expect at the time of this competition, the quality of the dance was amazing.

“I think both couples danced brilliantly, but I feel like one couple raised their game with a freedom they didn’t get on Friday night.

“And so I will save Kym and Graziano.”

Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood all support Rainford, who performed Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from the musical Chicago.

Ballas said: “Well, first of all congratulations to both couples. Both couples danced brilliantly, it was a very difficult decision.

“But based on this dance, and this dance alone, I will save Molly and Carlos.”

The results showed that opening with Guys And Dolls from Serious Professionals, and the cast of the jukebox musical The Cher Show performed a series of hits.

The remaining five couples will hit the dance floor next week for the semi-finals. The 10th celebrity to be eliminated from the Universal Dance
