A man in his 30s has been arrested by Met Police after the 62-year-old man died at the scene in Haringey, north London, where he was hit by a van that failed to stop

A 62-year-old man has died in an accident as police chased and arrested another 30-year-old man.
The victim was mowed down by a van in Northumberland Park in Haringey, north London, just after midnight on Sunday June 26.
Police were called around 12:30 am but despite the best efforts of rescue workers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops said the van failed to stop after impacting the pedestrian and was found a short distance after conducting a full investigation.

Officials are in the process of informing the family of the deceased.
London’s Metropolitan Police said a man in his 30s had been arrested and taken into police custody and an investigation was ongoing.
Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to call 101, ref. 266/26JUN22.
