“The 8-Bit Big Band” Wins Grammy for Kirby Arrangement

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards took place in Las Vegas last night, and it was a big event for Kirby fans (we honestly never thought we’d say those words).

The 8-Bit Big Band, which has 194,000 subscribers on YouTube, won the Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella category for their beautiful rendition of Kirby Super Star’s “Meta Knight’s Revenge.”

Arranged by Charlie Rosen and Jake Silverman, the track has amassed 230,967 views on YouTube at the time of writing, although we suspect this will increase dramatically following her Grammy win.

It’s worth checking out the band’s other arrangements on YouTube, including the main themes for songs like Chrono Trigger and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as well as a stunning jazz rendition of Super Mario 64’s Dire Dire Docks.
