The A27 was closed at Firle after a collision between two cars

THE A27 is partially closed after a two-car crash, one car was left in a ditch and the other was ‘impaled on a pole’.

The accident happened at around 7.30pm this evening on the A27 near Wick Street, Firle.

Two people were rescued by firefighters from the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

A white Nissan can be seen in a ditch on the east side of the road.

A spokeswoman for ESFRS said: “We were called at 7.28pm to an RTC involving two cars near Wick Street, Firle.

“Two people were turned over to the South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb).

“One car was lying in a ditch and the other was impaled on a pole.

“We left the crime scene at 8:08 p.m.”

It is unclear whether there are injuries at the site.
