The Apprentice finalists Kathryn Burn and Harpreet Kaur have opened up about life behind the scenes in Huxley House, where Lord Alan Sugar’s candidates lived during filming of the show
Ahead of The Apprentice 2022 final, the two remaining candidates have opened up about life behind the scenes inside the £17m luxury mansion where Lord Sugar’s hopefuls lived.
Based in London’s Billionaire’s Row, the candidates lived together in the lush property while filming the show last year as they competed for Lord Alan Sugar ‘s business investment.
Finalists Kathryn Burn and Harpreet Kaur have detailed life in the Huxley House mansion, which has featured on Channel 4 ‘s Britain’s Most Expensive Homes and boasts a swimming pool to unwind in between weekly tasks.
Kathryn, 29, said time spent in the house was her “favorite moment of the whole process”, detailing how she and Harpreet popped bubbly and celebrated over a takeaway in the lavish pad the evening they made the final.
She said: “We were just so so proud of each other and we were buzzing that we were in it together.
“We had become close really, really early on in the process. We started sharing a room right from the beginning. So to be in the final with my closest friend in the process was honestly amazing, and it was really special.”
Fellow finalist Harpreet, 30, said time off together at the Bishops Avenue home was “awesome” and gave the stressed candidates time to bond outside the tasks.
“We used to do workouts together on our days off,” she said. “One of us would cook and we’d all eat around the table together. We would chill in the garden because it was summer.
“It was just absolutely amazing and we really formed some amazing friendships.”
She continued: “The process was so intense and so the candidates there understand what you’re going through.
“You’re really vulnerable and we still make friendships around that, so that’s the strongest bond that you can have if people still respect you the way you are at your most pressured. It was brilliant.
“We all have very different personalities and characters and I love that because we just all bounce off each other.”
Pajama business owner Kathryn said spending time in the house with her fellow candidates always smooth sailing, despite “friction” in the boardroom.
She said: “We were good friends and we all really looked after each other, so the house was a really lovely environment to be in.
“Everyone did leave what happened in the boardroom in the boardroom. As soon as you left it, it was a big hug and it’s all forgotten about.”
She continued: “I think for me that was lovely – when you’re not with your friends and family and you’re away for a couple of months, you need those people around you that care for you and I certainly had that.”
The Apprentice You’re Hired! spin-off follows the final at 10pm on BBC Two.
