Haircare is a vast topic, but in the end, it comes down to this: hair care consists of one major goal – to keep our hair clean. A clean head of hair leads to better scalp health which leads to less chance for infections and irritation. With that said, let’s get on with the review! Below is your Yun Nam performance review.
What is Yun Nam, and what does it claim to do for our hair?
They have since branched out into other areas such as skincare but still primarily focus on haircare! Their marketing strategies are primarily focused on selling you one product at a time – these generally being shampoo or conditioner products. It is primarily known for its affordable prices, large range of products available, and particularly good variety for those who often suffer from scalp problems (e.g., redness, itchiness) due to its sensitive nature. However, they also carry hair styling products such as hair spray and gel, but not much more. There are no products available for perms or dyes, nor is there a leave-in conditioner available to my knowledge.
Yun Nam also claims that it gives “Sensitive Skins 100% Satisfaction”. This phrase would suggest that they have taken into consideration the needs of those with sensitive scalps and worked hard to produce a product that can provide a solution specifically for you! The company specializes in creating shampoos and serums with ingredients such as green tea extract, ginseng extract, rice extract, soybean extract (bean sprouts), lavender oil, chamomile (Matricaria flower) extract, olive oil. They do not contain any added colors, fragrances, mineral oil, lanolin, or parabens. They also do not test any of their products on animals.
How does Yun Nam stand out from other brands?
Yun Nam is a great haircare company because it offers effective options for those who are struggling to find something that works to help ease the symptoms associated with sensitive scalp problems! Its primary focus seems to be on dry hair issues such as dandruff and itchiness. In comparison to other hair care companies, which often market themselves towards oily/problematic scalp concerns (e.g., ACV shampoos), this brand has been around for a good amount of time and appears to have a pretty large following in Korea. Those who suffer from these issues tend to be more comfortable in seeking out products that are not known to exacerbate their scalp problems. This is where Yun Nam shines! It also does not use any animal or mineral oil, nor does it contain any fragrances, colors, lanolin (wool extract), or parabens.
What kinds of shampoo products does it offer?
The brand offers a wide variety of cleaners for different types of hair issues! They use ingredients that help to promote proper scalp health and strengthen the hair strand with conditioning factors. The most popular product line appears to be their green tea shampoo line. These products are designed to address dandruff/dryness associated with the scalp, so if you suffer from this type of issue, these shampoos are probably what you should be looking into. For those who have oily hair, the Yun Nam shampoo line is also quite popular.
Does it work? Let’s break it down by-product!
The most popular product for those with dry/itchy scalp issues appears to be their green tea shampoo line! I’ve personally used this shampoo and find that it works decently. My type of dryness is usually pretty stubborn, but I did notice that my scalp didn’t feel as irritated after using this shampoo. It was able to resolve some itchiness after use which felt great. The reason why it didn’t clean my hair was that the shampoo itself wasn’t sudsy. It did not lather at all, which immediately made me feel like something was wrong with this cleanser.
However, if your scalp responds better to products such as this which don’t contain any sulfates or harsh chemicals, then perhaps you should consider giving it a try!
