FIFA 23 developer EA Sports has announced the patch notes for all the changes coming to the game.
Among them are big changes for the computer-controlled AI, which many players found unfair.
There are also a number of quality of life improvements that players are sure to enjoy.
Here are the biggest changes for FIFA 23 in the latest patch.
Goalkeepers are more on the ball
Since the launch of FIFA 23, some players have had problems with the AI-controlled goalkeepers.
Sometimes they reacted with lightning-fast reflexes to a penalty that felt unfair.
This incredibly fast response has now been improved.
On the other hand, the goalkeepers missed some shots aimed directly at them. You can now save these simple recordings
Improved tactical gameplay for higher difficulty
Players who enjoyed the challenge on Pro, World Class, or Legendary difficulties had major problems in FIFA 23.
Even the most experienced players complained that the computer-controlled players were unbeatable in the most difficult conditions.
Adjusted the AI to “play more of a direct tactical style”.
In theory, this means it’s easier to anticipate the AI and effectively plan your strategy to counter it.
Quality of life changes for FIFA Ultimate Team
A number of changes have been added to FUT which means opening packs is more streamlined.
Removed pack opening animations from Objectives, Division Rivals, Squad Battles and FUT Champions Rewards.
Some of the screens that appear before FUT Moments have been removed to make the experience faster.
The secondary locations of player items are also displayed in the top left of the screen, a change that fans have been requesting.
Career mode managers make better decisions
While admittedly very funny, there was a pretty serious problem with managers in career mode.
The computer controlled managers sometimes sold more players than they bought, so sometimes there wasn’t enough for a whole team.
That’s now fixed, so not all managers, including yours, should sell you everything short.
The referees have improved again
Since release, players have complained that umpires are making some questionable decisions when it comes to calling fouls.
While some of these have already been fixed, EA has made more changes in the latest patch.
They are now better at calling fouls inside the box and they will no longer abandon a game in overtime if there is a three goal difference.
Fouls are called less frequently during a block or when a defender wins the ball, and fouling a goaltender now gives the team an advantage.
