The Final Dimension will be a little longer before it gets a revamp, but there are plenty of other things to enjoy while you wait.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Minecraft 1.20 update:

When is the Minecraft 1.20 update release date?

There is no official release date for Minecraft update 1.20 yet, but we can give a rough timeframe.

During the presentation of Minecraft Live 2022 we found out that the update will come in 2023.

Sniffer wins Minecraft Mob Vote 2022

Minecraft Live ran a fan vote to see which new mob to add to the game.

From the group of Rascal, Tuff Golem and Sniffer, the latter won the vote with a whopping 55%.

Sniffer was a previously extinct mob and you can find its eggs at the bottom of the ocean.

Bring these Sniffing Eggs ashore and they will hatch and slowly grow into animals that can sniff out the ground and dig up mysterious ancient seeds.

Camels are coming in Minecraft 1.20

In addition to the Sniffers, camels will also be introduced in update 1.20.

Bees, goats and frogs have been added in recent years and now camels will also be available.

Like horses, they can be tamed and ridden with a saddle, and they can even carry two players at once.

Bamboo can now be crafted in Minecraft 1.20

Bamboo was introduced in 2019, however players could not use it as a building material.

Update 1.20 will change this as bamboo can turn into solid blocks that can be used for anything that wood can be used for.

This includes a new type of boat, as bamboo can be tied together to form a raft.

Minecraft 1.20 lets you put books on your bookshelf

Bookshelves have been in Minecraft since pre-alpha in 2009, but you couldn’t put books on them.

1.20 introduces sculpted bookshelves that you can place books on.

The bookshelf correctly shows how many books you have on your shelf.

This bookshelf also comes in a different color than your standard bookshelf, which adds variety.

Hang signs in Minecraft 1.20

Signs have been slowly updated over the years, with changing text colors and glowing effects.

As of update 1.20, you can also hang signs in front of locations instead of having the hassle of having them taped to your walls.

If you hang one on a fence post, it will be dangling from a chain there.
