The Bird House restaurant opens at the Beacon Center in Eastbourne

A new restaurant has opened in a shopping center just in time for Christmas.

Bird Haus has opened in the Beacon Center on Terminus Road, Eastbourne.

The restaurant is creating 25 jobs and is still looking for more front of house members to meet and greet guests, a range of management functions and bar staff to mix a range of drinks and cocktails.

Owner Lamen Reddy said: “The feedback has been great and has prompted us to take the next big step and open a restaurant.

“The Beacon was an easy choice for us. Not only do we love Eastbourne’s seafront location and bustling streets, it’s also a fun South Coast cultural hub that’s seeing lots of exciting developments.”

“We think our bold, no-fuss approach fits the local culture perfectly, and we look forward to getting involved in the local community.”

The Bird House offers a range of dishes including its specialty of buttermilk fried chicken. Vegetarian and vegan options are covered, and there’s a slightly different menu with dishes like Cajun shrimp po-boys and quesadillas.

For Bird Haus, this is the first step into a restaurant format, having only been available through Deliveroo in the Cambridge and Norwich areas.

Beacon Center Director James Roberts welcomed the arrival of Bird House.

He said: “This is another great food and leisure attraction for The Beacon. Their exciting range of dishes offers our visitors a new taste experience and I am confident that it will be a great success.”

Another new opening at Eastbourne was the new temporary ice rink, which will be operational through January.

The rink is located at the nearby Enterprise Center in Station Parade, Eastbourne.

The Lightning Fiber Ice Rink in Eastbourne is open from 10am to 8pm (10am to 10pm on weekends) until January 8th. The Bird House restaurant opens at the Beacon Center in Eastbourne
