The Bohemians master the university challenge and claim victory in the Premier Division at Belfield

Ahead of their trip to Berlin this weekend, the Bohemians picked up three points against the ten-man UCD thanks to goals from Jordan Flores, Liam Burt and Dawson Devoy.

After a bright start in a sun-drenched Belfield Bowl, UCD soon found themselves under the hood.

Burt’s dangerous cross found Promise Omochere in the tenth minute, but the 21-year-old headed over the goal. His glorious touch of Devoy’s ball opened up another chance, but Sam Todd heroically blocked.

The visitors survived a scare in the 25th minute when Tadhg Ryan clawed Todd’s header off the line. Thomas Lonergan’s attempt was saved minutes later when Bohs went down a gear.

With the Bohemians’ defense looking vulnerable, the Students took the lead in the 30th minute when Lonergan’s superb shot rolled into the top corner.

Flores equalized the visitors five minutes later when his speculative goal was spilled into the net by Kian Moore.

Bohs was rejuvenated by luck and took the lead after 45 minutes. Flores’ cross landed on Ali Coote, whose half-volley was nodded by Burt, Scotland’s fourth goal of the season.

UCD’s Dylan Duffy was played through clean after the restart but shot over the bar. Ryan distributed well to prevent Todd from leveling in the 75th minute.

The UCD centre-back was shown a second yellow card a few minutes later for a foul on Flores. Devoy added the third from the penalty spot for his eighth goal of the season.
