OZARK bosses were forced to defend a shocking double death in season four after fans were horrified by the revelation.
The new season of the Netflix show brings in a dangerous new player, Javier Elizonndro – the grandson of gang boss Omar Navarro – and he makes life even harder for the Byrdes family.
In really dramatic scenes, Darlene Snell and Ruth’s cousin Wyatt Langmore were killed off in the first season of the fourth season.
The two murders in the seventh episode shocked viewers, with lovers being shot dead by Javi Elizonndro shortly after tying the knot as he repeatedly warned them not to take drugs.
Ruth discovers the murdered couple in their home, with the ending hinting at her revenge in the final episodes of the thriller.
Shedding light on why reshoots were needed, host Chris Mundy revealed it had a lot to do with setting up Ruth’s plot for the next chapter.
He revealed to Weekly entertainment: “It wasn’t something that was immediately planned, but for the most part it involved Ruth and trying to get her to the most rudimentary place we could get her,” he said. .
“Obviously, that character has been through a lot over the four seasons of the show.
“But Wyatt is what she cares about most in the world and we really want to let her come to the final decision, what’s the best path forward?”
Fans will have to sit tight until season four season two is released to see how Ruth reacts to Wyatt and Darlene’s murders.
Ozark is currently available to stream on Netflix.
