A woman was “deeply shocked and appalled” to learn a relative had accidentally sold 16 of her “irreplaceable” records at a flea market for £1 each.
Rohan Mellor, who lives in Buxton, Derbyshire, had inherited the records, which were early press albums from the early ’60s to late ’70s by the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, David Bowie and AC/DC.
They were kept with a relative while Rohan moved, and after a bereavement, the relative accidentally mistook them for items she was clearing out.
The vinyls were then sold at a flea market in Rowsley, Derbyshire on Sunday, a day after Rohan and her husband Rob returned from their honeymoon BBC reports.
They were once collected by Rohan’s father and uncle, and after her uncle died a few years ago, her father gave them to her and her sister.
Rohan, 26, described the recordings as “sentimental” and “irreplaceable” and told the BBC she was “deeply shocked and appalled” that they had disappeared.

“It didn’t really hit me until the next day and I was really, really upset,” she said. “I’m a huge record fan. Those were some very special ones [my dad] gave us.”
One man bought them all for a total of £15.50 shortly after the Rowsley flea market opened.
Rohan, who lives in Buxton, said she was desperately hoping someone could help her put the records back together.
A message she posted on Facebook about the bug has been shared more than 700 times.
She and Rob, who tied the knot on June 9, have also been in contact with a number of record dealers and Rob plans to visit the flea market on Sunday to see if he can track down the buyer.
Rohan said she was more than happy to pay to get her back
“It was never about the financial value of them. They were really important.”
