ALBION boss Graham Potter hopes Dan Burn will receive a warm welcome from the fans when he returns to the Amex Stadium with Newcastle.

The defender left the Seagulls in January to join his boyhood club in a £12million move.

He quickly returned to life in the North, helping the Magpies avoid relegation and climb back up the Premier League table.

Burn has faced Albion since leaving the club when he featured in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Albion but this weekend’s clash will be his first at Amex since leaving the club.

His former manager Potter believes he deserves a warm welcome from Albion fans for the hard work he put in during his time at the club.

He told the media: “I think and hope Dan will get a good reception.

“Our fans are fair and understand that he did his best.

“During my time, he really contributed to what we have achieved.

“He is a top person and a top professional.”
