Bradley Walsh was left in a frenzy as a contestant causing a huge hit on The Chase today.
The presenter couldn’t help laughing as Emma, 37, from London, entered the cash-building round in an attempt to win a gap in the final chase and stand a chance of winning some big money .
He admitted that he struggled to hold back his laughter as he passed other questions.
However, her performance in the question round sent Bradley into a frenzy and he couldn’t contain his laughter after Emma made a huge mistake in answering one of the questions.
One of the questions asked was: “What is the mascot of the University of Florida, Alberta Gator?” Emma quickly replied that it was an alligator before realizing her mistake, but it was too late and Bradley had to get the answer first.
After the quick round, Emma managed to win £5,000 to join the Chaser – but her earlier response had Bradley agitated. He laughs, saying: “The first question I had to ask, what is the mascot of the University of Florida, Alberta Gator – the alligator.”
“I was thinking about the teeth,” Emma said as Bradley couldn’t stop laughing and rested his head on his arm as he leaned against the podium. He then added: “I was trying to hold on,” before telling Emma: “You made me laugh there. It was amazing.”
Fans of the ITV quiz show took to Twitter to quip about Emma’s blunder.
“Imagine not knowing the difference between a king crocodile and a king crocodile #thechase“, one person wrote on Twitter, while another added: “Gator….say crocodile lol bless her! # Thechase. ”
A third shared: “Alberta gator – fish #thechase,” with a fourth writing: “Gator – GATOR! The clue is in the question! The Chase: Ask a clear question where the answer is alligator Born: Crocodile #thechase. ”
A few weeks ago, a contestant broke a record on an ITV show in a great cash-building round.
John won a “full house” in his quick question round, answering 11 questions correctly.
Much to his surprise, Bradley claimed it was a first gig as he shouted, “The show’s over. I can’t remember the last time that happened.”
“What is this?” John asked, doubting what had happened, to which Bradley replied: “The whole house, £11,000, is spectacular.”
