The Coast Guard called Rottingdean on a “search and rescue operation”.

COASTGUARD crews including a helicopter and lifeboats were sighted off the Sussex coast this morning.

A Coastguard helicopter was spotted off the coast of Rottingdean early this morning with several coast crews spotted near some rocks on the beach.

The crews are believed to have been involved in a search and rescue operation.

The RNLI and Sussex Police have been reached for comment.
