The constitutional right to housing does not mean free housing for all

Last year the government set up a Housing Commission to examine long-term housing policy issues. She began work in January this year and her first task was to consider whether the government should hold a referendum on including the right to housing in the constitution.

In May, she held a two-day conference on the issue, at which a range of voices for and against were heard. You can view or read the conference report on the gov.ie website.
