The consultation on enterprise policy has now opened

A consultation on Irish enterprise policy has been launched as Tánaiste Leo Varadkar warned of “impressive challenges” ahead for businesses.
We said Ireland’s economy was doing well, but we shouldn’t lose ground.
“The world is changing fast,” he said. “And we need to make sure we capitalize on these changes and don’t lose ground.
“We have to figure out how to hold on to what we have where possible and attract new investments, new markets and develop new industries where that isn’t possible.
“Climate change, inflation, Putin’s war on Ukraine, the shift of global economic and political power to the global South and East, increasing global competition and digital transformation are the next formidable challenges we now face.”
By the end of the year, the Tánaiste will publish an enterprise policy white paper setting out a new vision for Ireland’s enterprise policy. It will look at the strategic direction of Irish corporate policy, the challenges ahead and the actions we can take to respond.
Varadkar called on the public, industry, academia and all interested parties to participate in the consultation, which is open from today.
