The Crawley Pride celebrations begin today with the first ever parade

A WEEKEND of Pride kicks off today with a brand new parade, festival and entertainment for the whole family.

Crawley Pride, organized by Crawley LGBTQU+, will take place from Saturday 20th August to Sunday 21st August.

Today’s theme is ‘Festival Vibes’ and visitors should expect drag acts like Auntie Ginger and Kitty Scott-Claus, DJs like Simeon Riley and special guests.

Bars are available for purchase of drinks throughout the day, as well as rides, community booths and food.

This year will also see the first-ever Crawley Pride Parade, with local groups parading through town in their Pride outfits.

The parade begins at 12:00pm in the Memorial Gardens before moving on to Queens Square and the High Street. It then finishes at Goffs Park around 1pm.

Tomorrow, Sunday, August 21st, a family festival will be held at the same location on the topic of “community spirit”.

From 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., rides, music and even more acts are on offer.

Sam Bailey, Anneka Shelley and Dynasty Arts will take the stage alongside many local talents.
