Silent Hill Creator Keiichiro Toyama has said that one day he wants to return to the horror mentality and create another game like his spooky classic.
Speak as part of Question and answer section About his new studio, Bokeh Game Studio, Toyama explained that he hopes to one day create something similar to Silent Hill, but he currently has the ability to create something action more and so that’s what he wanted to pursue Bokeh’s First Game, Slitterhead.
“I want to one day do something with some classic psychological horror themes like I did with Silent Hill,” he said. “However, I’d rather do it when working with really limited resources, such as a budget or having to focus on an individual. Right now, we have a team of people with the ability to act. move. I want to use their skills to another direction.”
“However, I also want to do something more personal one day,” he concluded.
Slitterhead has action and combat sequences, but also involves more horror aspects. Toyama explains: “I wanted a game that could be enjoyed for its action, but its concept wasn’t just around killing enemies. “It conflicts with the mind, making players reluctant to engage in certain battles. I wanted to achieve both action and drama with this game.”

So even though Slitterhead won’t be like Silent Hill, the game is still much more than just fighting man-eating monsters. Bokeh aims to use horror to “enhance the feeling of immersion for players” and won’t just focus on gore.
Toyama has said before that he believes Remaking Silent Hill will be a tougher task than recent Resident Evil remakes. Perhaps, then, we can hope for an alternative spiritual sequel from him.
