EastEnders star Max Bowden showed off a painful wound after dramatic fight scenes on the soap.
The actor – who plays Ben Mitchell in BBC One soap – posted a picture of his injured and bruised hand after filming some dramatic scenes as Ben, where he hits his relative is Peter Beale after mistaking him for a homophobic man.
Max described it as an “occupational risk” when he posted a photo of his broken and bruised knuckles.
Writing on Twitter, he shared: “Job risk from Monday episode… two broken knuckles and one big bruise. Playing Ben Mitchell was a joy, thanks for all the comments. A few more weeks to come! @bbceastenders. ”
Ben teased a “big couple of weeks” where his character will be subjected to a gruesome rape ordeal.
A source from the show previously shared: “This is the first time EastEnders has touched on this, but they are at the forefront of telling these important stories. Speaking about the pivotal storyline, Max added: “Along with some amazing charities and some very inspiring UK male sexual assault survivors, I think We’ve been able to really try to tell the most honest narrative that we can, and I hope we can raise awareness and understanding on a subject that is rarely mentioned.”
The plot is especially important to the film as it will show the “traumatic time” he will go through.
Kate Oates, BBC’s head of continuing drama, explained: “Ben has endured a traumatic time after witnessing a reminiscent of a homophobic attack on Callum. painful memories of losing Paul.As a result Ben was lost in life…that’s when he found Lewis.
“Ben found Lewis attractive and thought of him as someone who could understand him the way Callum did not; but that trust was abused when Lewis crossed the line and raped Ben. Through this story , we hope to explore issues of consent, sexual identity, masculinity, and sexual assault, focusing on how this fateful night impacts Ben and those who love him. in the coming months.”
